Hi all

I hope everyone is well, it has been a crazy few weeks here between family visits and the World cup amongst other things. That is why it has taken me so long to post about this.

When ezine Articles changed the way they supply rss feeds sometime in April I did a blog post explaining how it had made it impossible for the Indexing tool to check the status of ezine articles.

I was hoping to get a program made that would pull a real feed from ezine articles and allow you to use that. I am still hoping to get that done but I know that people need a work around until we get that sorted.

So I did a video with a workaround, it isnt perfect but it works

As soon as I get a software solution sorted I will be in touch and send it out to everyone but I thought I would share this with you for now.

Well if you have been on the Internet over the last couple of days you will almost certainly have heard about the change to the Google results pages.

I don’t really have any comment on whether it is a better or worse look for them, although people who are far more obsessive than me seem to thing it is a good thing..for Bing! I somehow doubt this change will cause Google to fall off the face of the Internet but it has caused us to do a bit of a recode to the Indexing tool.

The code used to check if a page is indexed had to be changed. We are now on version 1.64 and it is in the members area. You can log in and get it right now, there have been no changes to the trackback plugin.

This change was totally beyond our control, we really don’t put out changes for the fun of it, as it means that just like you we have to go and update all our sites that use this plugin.

I advise you to download the update, unzip it and then ftp the files over the top of the ones currently in use. You don’t have to do it that way, you can just deactivate then delete version 1.63 and then upload 1.64 of course but I explain more in the video below.

Hi there

Firstly a huge thanks to each and everyone of you who has purchased the plugin package from us.

We have had to do a couple of updates to both the indexing plugin and the trackback plugin. To get the latest versions simply log into the members area and download the latest versions there, but please do read the rest of this post so you know why we have done the updates.

The updates to the trackback plugin were just to deal with some freaky goings on if you used all in one seo and some of you may already have this version. The trackback feed you create can be used anywhere don’t forget. I did a video showing you one extra way to use it.

The updates to the indexing plugin are to add some extended time options to the checking options, and also a debug mode so we can help you a bit easier on the rare occasions you do have problems.

The biggest bit of news is a change at ezine articles which has affected some of you. They have changed the way they deliver their rss feeds, If you look at the data in the present rss feeds it just shows www.ezinearticles/3688191 which they then redirect to the full article url which may be http://ezinearticles.com/?Whatever-The-Article-Title-Was?&id=3688191.

This means that the destination url and the rss url are different so the indexing checker can’t check for indexing correctly. Which of course is a major pain in the patootie for you (and me). This is something totally beyond our control, and we did think they were just testing it at first but it looks like it is a permanent change now.I wanted to make sure that I let everyone know about it.

What are we doing about it?
Well we are trying to find a way to allow you to create your own rss feeds which would include the full urls and would be able to be used in the indexing tool. We may have to go with a desktop tool rather than a server site tool, at the moment we are still looking at options. Any owners of the indexing tool plugins will get this tool for free as soon as we can get it sorted out. I can not give you a eta on it, I would love to but I don’t want to disappoint anyone.

Trackbacks
We had a fair few questions about trackbacks and I think I have answered most of them in the videos on the how to use indexing Tool page although I did do a video showing other things you can do to get your trackback rss feed indexed.

http://indexingtool.com/get-maximum-use-from-trackback-rss-feed/

HTML Sites
At the present moment we do not have an HTML version of the tool available, We have been talking about it but it would take a while to produce and we are unsure if there is a large enough market for it at this point so we are not planning its imminent production.

Free Plugin
This is a fun plugin, it shows you how many backlinks your site has in Yahoo, you can already see the info in Google from your dashboard, so we thought adding Yahoo to the mix would be useful. Download the plugin here and if you want to see a video on how to use it then go to
http://www.thenewbiehelper.com/free-plugin/ .
Feel free to send the link to that blog post out to friends and post it on forums, no email needed to sign up just download it and use on all your sites so you can see how many links show up in Yahoo.

Where Do You Rank?
There is always talk of where you rank for keywords, why is there so much talk? Because the higher you rank the more traffic your site will get. It really is as simple as that, rankings = traffic and if your site is set up right traffic = money. You can see why people talk about rankings so much can’t you.

There are plenty of ways that you can see where your site ranks for certain keywords, most of them are expensive or require you to log into other sites or start up desktop tools or collect lots of data and then run that through other software. This all seemed a bit long winded, expensive and time consuming we wanted to be able to see where we ranked for the keywords that

bring us traffic without having to go anywhere other than my wordpress sites. Now you can.

http://ranktrackerplugin.com/paul.html

This wordpress plugin makes it super simple for you to see where you rank for the words that bring you traffic. Even better that link allows you to save $18 over the clickbank price!

I think that is all the news for today, please do make sure to come back to the blog once in a while and see what new videos we have added.

Take a moment to get the updated versions of the plugins and look at the videos I have already done showing you ways to get your trackbacks indexed even quicker.

As always if you have questions feel free to contact us using the contact form or the helpdesk. We always try and get back to people as quickly as we can.

Paul and Peter

Now if you only build sites that are 3 or 4 pages then this probably isn’t a problem for you, however if you do any sort of autoblogging or you use the UAW (or any other company) plugin to add content to your sites on a regular basis you should read on.

You will often read that content is king and it is so easy to add good quality content to your sites now that you can easily add 1,2,3 or more articles a day to your site. But if you can’t get all that new content indexed then it isn’t really much use to you.

So here is one way that you can use to get all the new content on your side indexed by using the indexing tool plugin.

As the saying goes there are many ways to do any job, the method I show in the video above is just one way you can use to get all the pages on your sites indexed. You could choose to just have the links appear in a widget if you wish, you could have as many or as few pages as you want to appear.

Hope you like the video, please feel free to leave any comments or questions.

When you use a program like UAW to send out articles you will get 100’s if not thousands of links back to your site, this is a great thing!

Sadly not all of the pages which have your articles on will get indexed, this is where we come in. By adding the trackback feed plugin to your Wordpress sites (it is a free bonus with the indexing tool) you have a ready to use rss feed with all the trackbacks to your site.

RSS feeds are wonderful things, they can be used in so many ways that it makes your head spin. One of the ways to use the RSS feed is by adding it into the Indexing plugin. This will help get them indexed, but is there anything else you can do to help indexing?

Of course there is, and you know what I whole heatedly recommend that you do all you can to get the trackbacks indexed. When those pages get indexed it is like having a extra link to your site and the best bit is that you didn’t have to write any more content or do any heavy lifting to get that link.

One way to get them indexed is by submitting the rss feed to the rss aggregator sites, this is only one way and I will be sharing more ways with you over the next week or so.

Watch the video below to learn more

Thanks for watching the video. The program I use in the video can be found at RSS BOT

While I recommend using software for many tasks, and remember you can use rssbot to submit rss feeds from your sites as well as the trackback rss feed, you can do it manually if money is tight.

Thanks go out to Daniel McGonagle for this list, he has a more extensive list on his site but these will get you started.

http://www.feedest.com/

http://www.2rss.com/

http://www.plazoo.com/

http://www.feedbees.com/

http://www.rssmountain.com/rss_directory.php

So all you do is take your trackback feed and submit it to as many rss directories as you can. While it may seem strange to be helping other people get their pages indexed, remember this helps you get more links!

If you have any questions feel free to use the Contact form and we will help as quickly as we can.

Still to come, twitter and more!

We are committed to the ongoing development of the Indexing Plugin and the bonus Trackback plugin. The latest update (which is in the members area already and I have already emailed present owners) allows for auto updating of any rss feeds you enter into the indexing tool.

What does this mean in plain English?

Well it means that if you enter your ezine articles feed (or any other feed) and then go and add more articles to your ezine author account the indexing plugin will find them and include them in the list of links to be shown.

If they are already indexed, no problem, if they aren’t indexed then a link to them will be displayed until they are.

It checks twice a day so you can spend your time writing articles (or getting outsourcers to do it) rather than having to keep on updating your rss feeds.

Welcome to the blog for the Indexing Tool!

I have to say I’m very excited about the launch of this site, or rather the release of this WordPress plugin.. I’ve written quite a few plugins but this one has turned out to be incredibly useful and a whole lot of fun!

Just in case I haven’t explained it very well on the front page, what this plugin does is take an RSS feed URL (any one, it doesn’t matter) and then it checks each item in the feed to see if it’s indexed in Google. That’s all well and good I hear you say, but then if one of the pages from the RSS feed isn’t indexed, the plugin displays a link to that page on your blog.

And not only that, as soon as it detects the page has been indexed, the plugin will automatically remove the link from your blog, and replace it with another link to an un-indexed page!

I’ve released the plugin to a few people and they have been getting amazing results. You can see some of their testimonials on the front page.

At the moment I am just going through the process of getting the plugin approved for sale on ClickBank. I think I’m going to set it up with a 60% commission for affiliates, but I haven’t decided exactly how much to sell it for..

What’s it worth to get all your Ezine Articles indexed? How about your Squidoo lenses and Hub pages? I’ve been using it with new sites and they’ve been getting indexed really quickly.

Oh yes, I’ll also be throwing in another of my most useful plugins – the Rank Tracker plugin. This one tells you which keywords people are searching for when they come to your site. I know, you can get that info easily from your web stats.. but the plugin also tells you exactly where your page was ranking in Google when the person clicked on the result. And just for fun, it will also show you the Google PR (page rank) of your pages too.

So, what do you think it’s all worth?
